There is a saying, “The current generation will always think they are smarter than the previous generation and wiser than the next.”

I think it’s true in the business world too when you look at it. Managers who come in and take over a position will always feel the previous manager screwed up. Made the wrong decisions, could have done better. And when they vacate the position, their successor will never be as wise as they are.

I think we need to understand why decisions were made the way they did before we jump to conclusion.
