Everybody wants to rule the world?

Everybody wants to be rich until they find out how hard they have to work.
Everybody wants to lose fat until they find out how hard they have to work.
Everybody wants to look good until they find out how hard they have to work.
Everybody wants to live in a nice house until they find out how hard they have to work.
Everybody wants to retire early until they find out how hard they have to work.

But you are not everybody. Right?

So glad you almost made it?

Can you have an ideal plan?

No you can’t. Because we don’t live in an ideal world. You don’t have an ideal boss, your budget is less than ideal, your product is way off ideal and dreaming of your sales force being an ideal one is well, being ideal.

So, no. There are no ideal plans. But an approximate best possible improvised on the fly according to the situation we are both trapped in kind of plan? Yes that exists.

It’s time to live with it.

Do you know what is ideal?

How do you find your way?

Learn it on your own and learn it from experts. Then experiment, fail and re-do. Succeed and take notes. Doing enough allows you to synthesize different ways to create your very own.

When you find yours have confidence that it will work.

Who will be your mentor?

How fast can you go?

It’s not always about being the fastest or taking your own sweet time.

Find your own pace. You aren’t competing with someone else even though you may have competitors.

The biggest competitor truly is oneself.

Pace yourself in such a way you don’t burn running at someone else’s pace.

Pace yourself in such a way that you don’t get left behind because you kept too much spare in the tank.

How do you find your pace?

How good does it get?

I mentioned this is an older blog post before. Three out of five of your campaigns will be so-so. One will be crappy. One will be fantastic.

This means that for you the manager, it's OK to enjoy the one that has fantastic results.

When the results are bad, look back at the good ones to remind yourself that it’s been done before.

How well do you deal with it?

Do you know your goal?

Of course, you know that your goal is supposed to be SMART.

But a lot of time, people forget the art of pacing. And that affects the ART part of SMART goals.

Go at a pace in which you are comfortable with your actions, being realistic and a timeline that fits with your pace.

Remember, your first fight is against yourself. Then only consider your competitors.

Is the going getting tough?

When it gets tough, it’s always easier to rationalize why you should turn back, you should stop, you should postpone, when the conditions are better, when it is perfect to launch.

Sure, there will be situations where it demands that you do one of these few things.

But often times, the only action required is to keep on keeping on.

Will the conditions ever be perfect?

Do you want to give up?

In whatever you do, in life, business, branding or boxing, there will be times when you will be beaten down.

Keep going by focusing on what you are doing and what it does to get you where you want to go. Don’t focus on how you are feeling.

The feelings that appear when you are beaten are those that seduce you away from your goals.

How strong is your inner strength?

How do you know you have progressed?

Measure it. Compare “before” and “after” results. Decide early what you want measured and how you will measure it.

Don’t ask after the campaign is completed.

So was it a success?

How often should you change?

If looks can be deceiving, then learn the art of being flexible in adjusting your tactics and strategies.

When conditions change, adjust accordingly.

What does staying the course mean to you?

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

How does it look to you?

No matter how it looks, always remember “Looks can be deceiving.”

Judge everything at the end. Not in the beginning.

Are you a fortune teller?

Can branding be free?

No. Nothing in life is free. I am sure you have heard of that.

There is always a cost. Even if it is not a monetary cost, there is still labour cost, time cost and opportunity cost.

As a business owner big or small, managing a brand in a MNC or an entrepreneur running a small whatever business, you need to weigh these costs.

The real costs are often forgotten.

Are you that free?

What are your troubles?

“I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some come from behind. But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!” – Dr. Seuss

What is your big bat?

How to be good at branding?

To be good in branding, you need to learn a lot about branding and marketing, then you need to experiment a lot and that involves a lot of time and money and effort. And a load of failures, but look at these failures as fees to be good in branding. Then you need to think for yourself and your context and do more

Don’t like doing these? Stop dreaming then.

What do you think it takes?

Do you want to be a big brand?

Every boss wants their brand to be a big famous brand until it comes time to do stuff big famous brands do.

Can you take the pain?

Tuesday, January 5, 2016

How much do you know?

The beginning of everything is knowing everything you know is nothing.

Being an expert in one thing does not mean you are good at everything. Likewise, knowing something by concept doesn’t mean you can execute it.

Does your expertise transfer to other fields?

Who’s in your story?

Every new year is a new chapter in your life. If you look at it that way, every day is a new page. You write your own story every day.

There are some people you should write them out of your book. Some you should add.

To write a great story, choose the characters well.
