How often can you do it?

A marathon runner doesn’t run a full marathon every day to prepare for the marathon. An Olympic lifter does not lift his max weight every day to prepare for the Olympics.

Executing planned small consistent steps to reach your big goal, that’s how you do it.

Do you have a plan?

Are you up for the challenge?

It’s only a burden if you feel it weighs heavier than you can manage. It wouldn’t be a burden if you can carry it lightly. Any challenging task must therefore put you under some form of stress. But hoist that weight often enough eventually you become strong enough not to perceive it as a burden. Suddenly, it’s not a burden anymore. Of course, we know it didn’t just happen suddenly.

Are you stronger?

How can you get over?

Take whatever responsibilities that lie with you. Stop whining and complaining. Then take action on the things you can fix. Before long you will forget that it is even a problem.

When do you point fingers?

What do you want to achieve?

You may be tempted to shove the truth down some people’s throat. It may be truth they should hear. But you have to ask yourself, what will it achieve?

It may be the truth, but is it worth your effort and time

Will people change?

How fast do you want it?

In a world touting YOLO (you only live once), everyone (well, almost everyone) loves the idea of “all or nothing.”

Like everything else in life, there is a time and place for “all or nothing.”

For most other decisions, “always something” is almost always better than “all or nothing.”

What’s it gonna be?

What is your differentiation?

Your differentiation doesn’t just have to be brand positioning.

It can be customers, cost and channels of distribution.

Be different in the way you differentiate.

How are you the same?

How do you set your stage?

Smile before you go to sleep. Yes. Smile. You won yourself some rest. The tough day doesn’t matter anymore. It’s gone.

Smile when you wake up. Yes. Smile. You won yourself a brand new day.

Wake up early. You get a lot more done before the rest of the world starts.

How do you break a vicious cycle?

What hints did you leave them?

Leading the consumers to the decision to use your brand isn’t done with one media or one campaign. It takes countless moments of contact with your brand to ‘know’ you before they part with their hard earned money.

Learn about each medium’s role in your consumer’s life. Then pick the right one and spend enough on it.

It’s basic. But it’s the basic that people ignore because they are too arrogant with their assumptions

What conclusion did they make?

How big is your crisis?

Don’t fear challenging times. They may bring out your best.

How hard can you punch?

“Strong people do not put others down. They lift them up.”- Michael P. Watson

Which media should you use?

One way quick way to decide which media not to use is to eliminate all those you cannot afford.

If you use this method, it means you are tight with budgets.

Next, look at the media that can reach the most people you want the most number of times at the lowest cost.

It’s not the perfect method. But it gets you started.

You will be surprised even multinational brand managers need to be taught this method.

How many can you get?

Where did you go wrong?

There are many reasons why your advertising isn’t working.

Perhaps your advertising is working, but other aspects of your marketing mix aren’t working. Why do you assume it is the ads that are not working when the sales don’t come in?

Something that is not spoken often in the marketing communications community is the readiness of your brand to be advertised. Perhaps start there today.

Are you prepared?

How far can you reach?

Reach, frequency and impact are still important variables to look at.
Be guided by principles and not methods.

How many times did they hear you?

Would you have time to think?

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” – Viktor E. Frankl (Man’s Search for Meaning)

Very often, that space is merely a millisecond. Those spaces are the toughest to tame.

What is your habit?
