Here’s a piece of unappealing stark naked advice. Start by knowing what you want your brand to be. Then do what those other brands did. What principles did they adhere to? What campaigns did they run? What marketing variables did they fix? Do those. That brand you are trying to mirror did not become what it is overnight nor used that latest secret technique or social media viral whatever to get where it is now.

It became what it is today by doing a lot over a long time.
