What does your knowledge lead you to believe?

“Eppur si muove” meaning ‘And yet it moves’ has always been attributed to the Italian mathematician, physicist and philosopher Galileo Galilei (1564–1642). It was said he spoke these words after he was forced to recant his claims that the Earth circled a Sun that didn't move. The statement implies “It’s doesn’t matter what you believe, these are the facts.”

Sometimes, presenting facts at marketing meetings is like being persecuted during the Inquisition. You have the facts, but the people listening to it have a different set of beliefs. Those set of beliefs may not be fact based. Regardless, you are guilty.

Today, we know Galileo was right. Some marketers should walk towards enlightenment.

I say again, “Eppur si muove.”

Are you imposing the dark ages in yourselves?
