Some entrepreneurs look at a segment of the market and see it being over served; they see an opportunity to sell at the cheapest to beat the market. If you serve this market, you compete with so many competitors that getting the volume to make up for the thin profit is almost impossible.


The answer sometimes lies in the middle - just enough competitors to show you that there is a market to have enough volume and to have enough profits.
