Where are you now?

When you say nothing is wrong with the way your product is and the way you market your brand; you need to be careful if there is a dash of ego in it.

It is utterly perfect if that is the objective diagnosis.

But if the truth is that you have muddied it with your ego, then perhaps you won’t know where your brand can go. Why? Because you aren’t clear where you are and why you are there. If you don’t know where you are then it is difficult to know where you can be.

Nothing wrong is not right.

What’s your favourite typeface?

Should the font you use be neutral? Or should the font connote the message? Some people believe that fonts should be neutral. And that it should stay objective and allow the message to do its job. Others do not quite agree.

We say it depends on the context. Not as a cop out. There should be other things that should be considered like, what is the message? Where does it appear? What does it want to say? All these are important.

Here’s an example. You read about a gory scene in your favourite thriller? There is nothing gory about that typeface you read it in. But you got the imagery. It’s a story book. People expect the font to be neutral. The story should reveal itself.

In a logo? Well, it again depends. What does the brand stand for? What are the colours that will anchor it?

Did you know the logos above are all in Helvetica?

How true is your brand?

Country music does not make apologies for its lyrics. It doesn’t feel bad for the things they sing about. In fact they love it when you hate it. They know who they are for and they stay true.

Here are the lyrics if you wanna sing along to "This is Country Music"

What do you stand for?

What’s the price?

It’s easy to say, “I like this.” Like and reality are two very different things.

That distance between his hands? That’s a lot of work. No, sorry let me say it better. That's a hell lot of work.

Harvey Specter didn’t tell you.

You can equate it for your brand too. “Our brand is this, I like this.” Sure.

Are you willing to pay the price?

Have you got what it takes?

What’s your key?

When you hear someone say "Life’s too short", it is almost always followed by some hedonistic action that cuts life short. Or make life miserable.

You would think if life’s too short, one had better use it for better benefit of self or others.

Life’s too short is a key for a better you and a better world. It’s not an excuse to knock back the 30th tequila shot.

Is your life too long?

When’s the beginning?

When you start something new, everything starts anew.

You build new credentials, you learn new things, you apply new knowledge.

Whether it is for your brand or for your life. It works the same way.

Getting into a new market, selling a new product, introducing a new feature. Getting a new job, transfer to a new department, getting used to a new work process.

If experience works, good. It’s a bonus. But never walk in thinking you know. Thinking too highly about the credentials you have built.

You know something. Yet, you know nothing.

Building and rebuilding. It’s keeps everything going.

When’s the end?
