Once your business starts growing and you have excess resources, your decision to expand can take two general directions. Expand into new areas or strengthen your foundation. This is crucial. One that should be guided by what is your strategic competence.
I would opt to
strengthen my strategic competence if it is not at its best yet. Expanding on a
fairly strong foundation isn’t a strong enough reason to expand my business
yet. But that’s just me.
