Most people want to have opinions. Some love to give their opinions whether solicited or otherwise. But only the rare few want to do the hard work of having good respectable opinions. It’s much easier to hide behind, “Oh it’s my right to have an opinion” than to do the hard work – reading, researching and sometimes reviewing your own stubborn views.
Murder your own views when necessary with the intellectual humility of a drug discovery scientist when new evidence shows that your opinion is downright deplorable.
The path to respected opinion is a hard one. Take it anyway.
Do people value your opinion?
